I have the pleasure to send you the laser report for Szazhalombatta. The report include the technical matters, the practical side, weapon test and remarks about our rules.
Technical matters:
The range contained 38 targets from IQ and 38 lights with repeaters from navi street. Result system was provided by cardsys. No power back up was provided by the LOC as it has to be. After two power break down during the men semifinal we use one backup system of IQ. In the finals we had a generator and a another backup system provided by LOC. From that time no more problems with power! On 5.5.11 before the technical meeting IQ gave a 15 minute lecture to all present trainer. The lecture includes all the technical questions how to change the mode and why you couldn´t change batteries after connecting with targets etc. On 4.5.11, Dr. Blažek from CZECH gave a lecture about laser. Both explanation were filmed by a Hungarian film team. The idea is to bring both on the internet side from IQ and the UIPM to help and explain all laser matters to all nations.
Practical side:
- No more double initiation of targets because the targets were checked with a computer system before competition. The data system receive all shoots. In case of miss shoots all lights are blinking. The data protocol works without any fault. On the range side no more problem. But we notice a few breakdown of wireless modules on the pistol side. IQ have to analyze and solve that problem and report to UIPM. Additional there have to be a check of targets before competition to be sure that targets are working properly. Due to the fact that we had laser malfunction we prepare 4 spare pistols like in Sassari.
Weapon test:
- We stopped the laser and the 4,5 caliber test – no rule. We had only the trigger test at the range. Paring of pistol and target was up to us. So it was possible that the athletes could start shooting immediately when warm up begin. For the future paring has to be done by the athletes. We will go on with that to the world cup final. After athletes have to do it alone. During technical meeting we announce that all athletes are from now on responsible for a full battery. They have to prepare their weapons with a new battery before trigger test will start. That is one of the most important issues because if you take out the battery after paring, the target loose the data from the pistol and it has to be paired again. Therefore you have to switch back again in the non paired mode! That needs knowledge of the system.
Rules:
- New situations took place during that competition. Malfunctions of pistols (see TD report) battery changes during warm up (problem of new connection with targets) and shooting without air. For example: It is possible with Morinni to release a shoot without air so you didn´t hear the sound of the shot. Maybe a clarification what laser air shooting means could help everybody.
Conclusion:
- The system work. All problems we had in Palm Springs and Sassari are solved. For the future we have to help athletes and trainer with modified rules. Everybody have to learn how the system work.
Completion:
- 30.04.11 the Berlin federation organized a youth B German championship with laser shooting. 14 boys and 27 girls from Germany competing. The range were prepared with IQ targets and a mixture of easiepenta and navistreet lights. We didn´t notice any problem during competition.
