2 - Questions and answers / HELP
2.1 - IQ System components
- IQ - Container / Pistol
- IQ - Targets
- IQ - Software
- IQ - Accessories
2.2 - pistol
Sam Sacksen (USA) (after WorldCup in Palm Springs) "I am having difficulty getting my target to receive the signal from the laser. The lights on the side of the pistol come on but remain all red regardless of whether or not I hit the target (black or white). Also the indicator lights on the target do not light up at all except when I first plug in the target."
Competition targets from the Palm Springs range:
The lights on the targets have been switched off; as many athletes saw the LEDs on the target as a distraction. To reset this you will need a USB dongle with the wireless chipset to change the software. Your pistol should show the correct hits and misses, if you have a blue blinking 1st LED on the display = unpaired pistol. I assume your 1st LED is still blinking purple; this you can "reset" by pushing and holding the right of the two switches for more than 15 seconds. As soon as the light on your pistol will blink blue a shot onto the black will pair it to your target and it will react...
Silvino Lyra (USA) The mode blue light is on blinking. There is a way to turn on and off the system to save battery or that light will blink for some time only and than turn off by itself?
The UIPM standard competition mode, which you have setup on your IQ-Container keeps the system awake for one hour, then it goes to sleep mode. This does not take much energy but makes sure that during a competition the Pistol is always ready. If in sleep mode, you need to make one shot to wake the system up.
2.3 - target
hit & miss target
- it "shows" if the shot has hit the black by taking the time of the "event"
IQ-H&M targets communicate back to the IQ-Container and show on the LED a green light for hits and a red light for misses
- reaction speed of the registration is 10 ms
- the target "pairs" with the pistol on the very first hit on the black = hit area
- after pairing, the target takes over the control of the transmissions of and to the pistol
- each shot is transmitted in a different way, if necessary
- Sam Sacksen (USA)
I see there is an Ethernet port on the target. Is there (possibly eventually) a way to attach the target to a computer so as to allow for data collection etc?
Our wireless USB dongle will enable you to patch the software of the H&M target and later to use the PC as a data collection / software / analysis station. In the H&M version you will NOT be able to see the shotgroups! The Ethernet port you spotted is only the connection port for the LED lights like you saw in competition mode; it does POE - (power over ethernet) the target if Navistreet lights are connected! So you only need one power adapter for the whole system.
2.4 - pairing / anti cross fire?
- once a pistol is "paired" to its target,
- another pistol can not hit the same target any more
- and you can't hit another target any more
- this applies for the time until the battery is removed from the IQ-Container (on purpose)
- and the target is "powered"
- in order to "unpair" a pistol / target combination
- press the right button of the IQ-Container until it starst blinking blue again
- or remove electrical power (battery) from Pistol and target, (if your IQ-Container is NOT UIPM competition coded!)
- press the right button of the IQ-Container until it starst blinking blue again
2.5 - light displays
the LED displays of SIMPOWER and Navistreet are connected to the "Ethernet"-look alike plug in the H&M target
- all display types of the production year 2011 use the same UIPM-standard connection!
all Navistreet displays instantly support the H&M target with power
all latest SIMPOWER displays should support the H&M target with power
- in case of doubt please contact the producers / vendors
